Burlington County Department of Corrections are seeking motivated, professional, and dedicated individuals for the position of County Correctional Police Officer. County Correctional Police Officers are responsible for the following: Under supervision, during an assigned tour of duty within an adult county correctional facility or institution, performs a wide variety of tasks in support of the safety, security and welfare of inmates, facility personnel and visitors; performs other related duties as required.
Requirements:
Candidates must be 18 years of age and maintain a valid New Jerseys Driver’s license.
Must pass medical and psychological testing.
Must pass background investigation.
Special Qualifications:
Must also be able to successfully complete the following physical assessment prior to attending the police academy:
Vertical Jump – 15 inches
Sit-ups – 28 repetitions in 1 minute
Push-ups – 24 repetitions in 1 minute
300 meter run – 70.01 seconds or less
1.5 mile run – 15:55 minutes or less
Candidates must successfully complete a police training course approved by the New Jersey Police Training Commission. Such training
includes successful attainment of a satisfactory level of proficiency in the use of firearms.
Starting salary: $47,761
Benefits: Pension, paid vacation, accrued sick time, health & dental.
This is an essential position which will include weekends and holidays. 12 hour shifts.
