Revenue Reports

Message from County Clerk Joanne Schwartz

In the interest of open and free access to government records, the Clerk’s Office is releasing revenue report compilations (PDF) from 2020 to July, 2022.

These reports reflect revenues received from the Document Recording Section of the Clerk’s Office, responsible for the recordation of land records for Burlington County and the Services Section, which processes passport applications, swears in Notaries, registers Trade Names and offers numerous other services.

Direction for offering and the fees charged for such services are set by Legislative and Administrative sections of our State and Federal governments. From the fees collected the office provides mandated tax relief to both the State and County governments.

Most of the revenues in the Clerk’s Office are generated through the recording of land records and the associated recording and real estate transfer fees set by the State Legislature. The revenues are collected and apportioned based upon mandated formulas derived from the prices paid for land and home sales and, as you will see are subject to fluctuations in both sales volume and sales price of Burlington County real estate. The resulting Clerk’s Office revenues are then divided according to the legislated formulas between the State of New Jersey and Burlington County for the tax relief of County Residents.

The presented report is compiled from the monthly revenue report generated in accordance with state statute and submitted to both the State of New Jersey and the Burlington County Treasurer.

Thank you for your interest,

Joanne Schwartz
Burlington County Clerk
