Volunteer Cleanup Results - Burlington County Parks and Clean Communities

Volunteers have an opportunity to get to know the open space that has been preserved for their use by participating in litter cleanups of county parks. Families, students, Scout Troops, personnel from Joint Base McGuire-Fort Dix-Lakehurst along with local residents participate in these events.

Pennington Park & Newton’s Landing Trail, 562 Creek Rd., Delanco

Volunteers helped collect litter along the Rancocas Creek shoreline at this 140 acre park. 

20 volunteers collected 1,040 lbs. of litter.

Volunteers helped collect litter and debris, brought in by daily tides, along the shoreline of this 55 acre park.

 36 volunteers collected 1,960 lbs. of litter.

 for Saturday November 14, 2015 - Amico Island Park, 81 Norman Ave., Delran


Volunteers helped collect litter and debris, brought in by daily tides, along the shoreline of this 55 acre park.

41 volunteers collected 500 lbs. of litter.


Top five items collected:

Plastic pieces (934), foam pieces (551), plastic beverage bottles (500), food wrappers (394), miscellaneous materials i.e. cigarette butts, ropes, appliances, etc. (364).

This 5th annual cleanup was part of the NJ Clean Communities Council's Clean Water Challenge. Volunteers helped collect and inventory litter and debris along the shoreline.

42 volunteers collected 960 lbs. of litter.

RESULTS for Saturday April 12, 2014 - Amico Island, Norman Avenue, Delran

In association with the 26th annual International Coastal Cleanup hosted worldwide by Ocean Conservancy, and NJDEP AmeriCorps Watershed Ambassador Program.
Volunteers helped collect and inventory litter and debris along the shoreline.

98 volunteers collected 1960 lbs. of litter.

Top five items collected:
Foam pieces (1,616), glass pieces (1,158), plastic pieces (1,349), plastic beverage bottles (845), food wrappers (594).

for Saturday March 22, 2014 - Willingboro Lakes, Willingboro


Volunteers collected litter along the paths and shoreline of this 105-acre preserve. Two lakes, walking trails, wildlife and waterfowl make it popular for bird watching and fishing.

40 volunteers collected 1,600 lbs. of litter and two tires.

Volunteers helped inventory and collect litter along the Rancocas Creek shoreline at this 140 acre park. This cleanup was part of the New Jersey Clean Communities Council's 2nd annual Clean Water Challenge.

 for Saturday May 4, 2013 - on two sections of the North Branch, Rancocas Creek - from Birmingham to Smithville & Smithville to Mount Holly

Volunteers with their own canoes and kayaks paddles the scenic Rancocas Creek and removed litter and debris along the way.

12 volunteers collected 2,600 lbs. of litter.

In association with the NJ Adopt-a-Beach Clean Water Challenge, volunteers learned about watersheds and helped inventory and collect litter and debris along the shoreline.

76 volunteers collected 1,200 lbs. of litter.

Volunteers learned about watersheds, and helped inventory and collect litter along the Rancocas Creek shoreline at this 140 acre park. This cleanup was part of the NJDEP AmeriCorp Watershed Ambassadors' 2nd Annual Dash for the Trash.

72 volunteers collected 5,200 lbs. of litter and 12 tires.
