Victorian Christmas Tea this Saturday, December 19th!

According to historians, the discovery of tea was in 2737 BC by Emperor Shen Nong, when some tea leaves floated into a pot of boiling water. It was not until mid-1600s that tea reached England. The first known record of tea being imported to England was granted by Elizabeth I in 1637. Tea once symbolized royalty and only practiced among those of wealth and class but it eventually spread to the working class.

This Saturday is the Victorian Christmas Tea at the Smithville Mansion. Come to the Smithville Mansion, sip some tea and relax before the holidays!
