Sheriff Stanfield Now Accepting Applications for Senior Home Security Program

Sheriff Jean Stanfield announced that her department is now accepting applications to provide seniors and individuals with disabilities free home security surveys and modifications.

“Our Technicians provide a top-to-bottom survey of the home and, where necessary, can install a number of security items at no charge to the resident,” said Sheriff Stanfield. “This often includes door and window locks, peep holes, and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.”

“An added benefit to this program is that it also gives us an opportunity to make seniors aware of the latest frauds and scams so that they may protect themselves,” Stanfield continued. “This is a totally free program and one that every older resident really should take advantage of.”

“Our Department has been offering this program for more than 25 years and typically serves 300 homeowners a year,” added Stanfield.

Interested residents should call (609) 265-5796 to register. To qualify, at least one person in the household must be 60 years of age or older. The Senior Home Security Program has grant funding provided by the County’s Office on Aging.
