The Holgate Hike is Tomorrow, February 20th!
Hiking, a part of mountaineering is about strolling in harmony with nature. Did you know that in diverse parts of the world it has different names? In the United Kingdom it is known to be ‘hill walking’. In Australia it is called ‘bush walking’ while it is regarded as “tramping” in New Zealand. In the Indian and African landmasses, this game is known by the name, ‘trekking’.
Come join leader, Lloyd Shaw, at Holgate in Long Beach Island’s southernmost town-just north of Brigantine Island. Its winter birding at its best! If last year’s species make a return visit to the shore, Snow Buntings and Snowy Owls are just a few of the possibilities, in addition to Harlequins, other waterfowl, seabirds, and raptors.
