Hydrogeology of the New Jersey Coastal Plain
Thursday, February 16, 2023
When you turn on the water in your house, do you ever ask yourself, “Where does this water come from?” Burlington County’s water supply comes from thousands of wells and streams. This lecture will describe the geology, hydrogeology, rainfall, and the water cycle of Burlington County and the New Jersey Coastal Plain. The program will describe what an aquifer is, how water gets into and out of an aquifer, and how urban and rural areas get and reuse their water. Presented by Pierre Lacombe, retired USGS geologist, who investigated the water supply of the New Jersey Coastal Plain for over 35 years.
