Freeholder Deputy Director Singh Announces Upcoming Burlington County Events for 4/1-4/7

Freeholder Deputy Director Balvir Singh announced that for the upcoming week there will be a variety of events taking place in Burlington County.

“Did you know that the County hosts an addiction support group meeting on the first and third Thursday of every month at the Community Agricultural Center?” said Freeholder Deputy Director Balvir Singh. “It is our hope that residents take advantage of this meeting along with family members that are looking to get their loved one help. It is so important that we continue to provide assistance and resources to residents seeking treatment or trying to overcome addiction.”

Event: Interpretive Trail Hike

Date and Time: Monday, April 1, 2019, 1:30 PM

Location: Rancocas Nature Center, 794 Rancocas Road, Westampton Township, NJ 08060

Join a Rancocas Nature Center staff person or associate naturalist for an interpretive hike through our varied habitats. It’s a great way to become familiar with the trails. Bring a camera and/or binoculars as we’ll be sure to stop at scenic spots along the way. The easy pace is suitable for all ages, but you’ll need a child carrier to transport small children. Event: Birding 101

Birding is a fun and popular form of recreation, but it can be challenging and overwhelming for beginners. This presentation is for those interested in beginning birding, suitable for ages 12 – adult. Learn the essential basics for bird identification, tips for choosing binoculars, and birding do’s and don’ts. Find out about local birding opportunities and how to keep track of your sightings. Event: Bone Broth & Dinner with Chef Junnie Lai

Bone broths are nutrient-dense, rich in flavor, and boost healing. They aren’t just trendy elixirs that you see bottled on the grocery shelves. In many cultures, bone broths are a staple of traditional diets. Today, they are also a staple in the Paleo and Keto diets. This class will cover recipes for beef, chicken, pork, and lamb bone broths, and how to turn them into healthy and delicious meals. Event: Little Sprouts Preschool Gardening Club

Exploring Seeds, Life Cycle of Seeds - This gardening program for preschoolers accompanied by an adult, focuses on gardens and plants, worms, mud, seeds, and work in the garden throughout the spring. Each meeting will focus on a different aspect of gardening. Please dress accordingly. Register online. There is no charge for this program, but participants need to be Rancocas Nature Center members. Event: Hump Day After Work Hike

Like to hike, but don’t like doing it alone? Come out for a brisk hike in nature at the perfect time to enjoy spring’s awakening. We will enjoy the views week to week as the natural world comes alive again. There is no charge for this program, but donations are encouraged. Hikes continue each Wednesday through May. Event: RNC Outdoor Photography Club

Event: Addiction Support Group Meeting

The Board of Chosen Freeholders is partnering with Ashley Addiction Treatment to host Addiction Support Group Meetings on the 1st & 3rd Thursday of every. The individual battling addiction isn’t the only one in need of healing. Parent & Family Connection is a safe, professionally-facilitated resource for family members and parents/guardians that have a child or loved one in recovery or actively using. It’s a place to share support, wisdom, and perspective to help cope with the collateral effects of addiction.

Event: Nature in Art for Preschoolers

Fun with Colors – Spring is a colorful season filled with bright colors. This program, designed for preschoolers ages 3-5, will introduce primary and secondary colors and participants will create their own color to use in a 2-D design. Event: Women's Nature Club

Location: Burlington County Fairgrounds, 1960 Jacksonville-Jobstown Road, Columbus, NJ 08022

Join other women who are passionate and enthusiastic about the environment and experience the natural world in exciting ways! Meet once a month to learn about topics such as threatened and endangered species and social structures in the animal kingdom. Event: Rescuing the Revolution

Date and Time: Sunday, April 7, 2:00 PM

Location: Burlington County Lyceum of History and Natural Sciences, 307 High St., Mount Holly, NJ 08060

Author David Price will discuss his book “Rescuing the Revolution.” Mr. Price is a historical interpreter for the Friends of Washington Crossing Park and Princeton Battlefield Park on behalf of the Princeton Battlefield Society. He is a member of various national and local organizations relating to the Revolution. A graduate of Drew University, he holds an M.A. in political science from Rutgers University-New Brunswick, where he was an Eagleton Fellow. Event: Art Exhibit, Emerging Artists, Dual Feature: Josh Toritto and Don Stephens

Date and Time: March 28 – May 5, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Location: Warden’s House Gallery, 150 High St., Mt Holly, NJ 08060

Rotating exhibits featuring works by different artists will be presented at the Wardens House in historic downtown Mount Holly. Each artist will be featured for a six-week exhibit in order to highlight their outstanding work. Joshua is an artist who has received his education through the Perkins Center of the Arts. Don Stephens is what you might call a Figurative Expressive Artist. Earning his education through Tyler School of Arts, he is also in communicator in the US Marine Corps Reserve. Thursday-Saturday 10AM - 4PM; Sunday Noon - 4PM.

Event: Art Exhibit 2019 Teen Arts State Touring Exhibit

Date and Time: March 28 – May 5, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Location: Worker’s House Gallery, 803 Smithville Rd., Eastampton, NJ 08060

This exhibit will include artwork deemed to be the best of the best created by students participating in the 2018 NJ Teen Arts Festivals. Teen Arts adjudicators selected these works from all of the entrants statewide. Come see works by budding young artists from our County and throughout the state. Event: Hugh Campbell Collection Art Exhibit

MOUNT HOLLY IN THE MID-20TH CENTURY THROUGH THE EYES OF HUGH H. CAMPBELL - Hugh H. Campbell was a man of many talents. He expressly captured his own view of Mount Holly via his paintbrush. He was an artist, published author and philosopher who lived an extremely minimalistic life. Learn more about him and see select works from the Hugh H. Campbell Collection.

Event: Exhibit: Willingboro Art Alliance Open Show
