On Sunday, Sept. 27th, Burlington County residents can shred confidential documents and safely dispose of computers and TVs and more. The event, sponsored by the Burlington County Freeholders, will be from 9 am to 1 pm at the Burlington County Resource Recovery Complex, 22,000 Burlington-Columbus Road, Florence, NJ 08518. Volunteers are on hand to unload the cars. Bring only “confidential” documents for shredding, such as bank and credit card statements, tax returns, papers with account numbers or social security numbers, to be shredded on-site. No binders, plastic folders, computer disks or plastic credit cards. Up to four bags or boxes per household will be accepted. Already-shredded paper can also be recycled at this event.
Accepted E-waste includes computers, TVs, laptops, monitors, computer keyboards, mice/cables, printers, desktop copiers, scanners, fax machines, VCR/DVD/MP3 players, cell phones, game consoles and rechargeable batteries. Residents can also bring microwaves, stereos/equipment, record players, vacuum cleaners, irons, toasters, blenders and mixers to be recycled. Also accepting large batteries such as car, boat, moped, motorcycle and farm equipment batteries, but NO small household batteries.
