Burlington County Sheriff Jean E. Stanfield announced today the results of a recent child support raid, saying the sweep – which was part of a statewide effort -- resulted in the arrest of 64 individuals in Burlington County who owed $1,620,824 in court-ordered child support.
“As in the past, we have had excellent assistance from law enforcement agencies both within and outside the County,” said Stanfield. “Executing a statewide raid of this magnitude underscores the importance that must be placed on the needs of children.”
”Child support isn’t just an issue for the children who need it, and the parents who owe it, it’s everyone’s issue. When child support goes unpaid, the cost of care often falls on taxpayer funded State and County agencies,” Stanfield added.
In Burlington County the sweep involved the assistance and support of Burlington County Sheriff’s Department, Willingboro PD, Pemberton PD, Burlington City PD, and Burlington County Central Communications,
