Rutgers Cooperative Extension offers educational programs and services related to
agriculture, 4-Youth Development, and Family and Community Health Sciences.
The agricultural staff assists farmers on issues related to crop management, pesticide
training, plant disease and research.
Trained Master Gardener volunteers answer questions on lawn maintenance, gardening,
landscaping and plant diseases and insects. Soil testing is available for a nominal
fee.
4-H Youth Development supports the county's 4-H clubs that focus on a variety of
topics ranging from animal husbandry to environmental sciences to photography. Membership
is open to youth grades K-12.
The Family and Community Health Sciences (FCHS) staff offers presentations, trainings,
web-based information and factsheets on topics related to nutrition, health promotion,
food safety, school wellness, family development, and consumer education.
