OCTOBER, 14, 1:00 - FEEDING A VILLAGE, Smithville Park Visitor Center - Join the Smithville historian for a walk down the food chain. With stops at the general store, the farm complex, and the workers house you will discover how the people of Smithville fed themselves. Tours start at 1 pm at The Visitor Center.
Mary Carty and Steve Carty, mother and son, are exhibiting baskets from their collection that the public rarely gets to see. From unusual baskets they created based on antiques in their collection to traditional baskets woven from unique fibers, the display is captivating. The exhibit will also include native British Colombian baskets circa 1890 and baskets from the next generation of their extended family.
