Nature Adventures for Preschoolers Series - It’s never too early for young children to interact with nature. Rancocas Nature Center offers this fun program which combines a nature-themed children’s book, Walking in A Wonderland, and an outdoor exploration. This program is designed for preschoolers ages 3-5 accompanied by a parent or guardian. Register by calling 609-261-2495. Series continues with different topics on January 26 and February 23.

The annual art exhibit will feature winter and holiday themed pieces from local artists. Exhibit will open on December 3 during the Victorian Holiday Celebration and remain open through the month of December. Enjoy the exhibit during as part of the Mansion tours and Candlelight tours. Sales from the artwork will benefit the Friends of the Mansion at Smithville.

DECEMBER 4 - TOURS OF THE MANSION, Smithville Park Enjoy the splendor of a Christmas past with a guided tour of the Historic Smithville Mansion, lavishly decorated for the holidays in a grand Victorian style. The 2017 theme is a Victorian Christmas during Queen Victoria’s reign in the mid 1800’s. Tours are daily and begin at 1:00, 2:00, & 3:00 PM. Adults: $7, Seniors and Students: $6. No reservation required.

Burlington County's version of the Christmas Bird Count, a scientific survey of the bird species that over-winter in the County Parks. Participants will identify species by sight and sound at specified locations within each County Park (not for beginner birders). If you would like to contribute your bird identification skills to help the Parks System with the census, please go to our Burlington County Parks website to register. Group size is limited to 10 people each day. Exact start times will vary and will be given at the time of registration. Prepare for at least 2 hours of winter weather at each location.

Learn about the history of the park while enjoying the beautifully lighted landscape. These evening tours are free and special family nights include a visit from Mr. Scrooge and end with a warm cup of hot cocoa and cookies with Mrs. Claus! Family nights will be held on December 8 & 9, and December 15 &16. Candlelight tours are also offered on select nights for a fee.
