World Water Day is celebrated annually on March 22nd and focuses on the importance of water and its sustainable use. Explore the interesting freshwater ecosystems of the Burlington County Parks System, from Smithville Lake down the Rancocas Creek and its tributaries, and out to the Delaware River. Learn about the valuable services wetlands provide for people, such as flood control and water purification. Discover the various ways in which we can protect our wetlands and conserve our water. New Jersey Beekeepers - Spend the evening learning about honeybees, their social structure, and beekeeping in NJ from George Sereduk, beekeeper and member of the Mid-State NJ Bee Keepers Association. The Burlington County Parks System offers story time geared for children ages 2-5 years old, two times per week. Children will enjoy hearing 3 short stories read aloud, separated by 3 songs that children play along to with rhythm instruments. Each session also includes an age-appropriate craft. Tuesdays at the Rancocas Nature Center and Thursdays at the Worker’s House Gallery at Smithville.
