Discover the world of some of our most beloved insects: the butterflies. This presentation will focus on behaviors, defenses, life cycles, and natural history of butterflies and caterpillars in Burlington County. The difference between butterflies and moths along with photographic examples of some moths that are present during the day will be discussed. The presentation includes photographs of butterflies (adults and caterpillars) representing each of the five families found in Burlington County Parks. Presented by Park Naturalist Jen Bulava.

Grab your canine companion and em"bark" on a guided hike throughout the park with LL Bean staff. Bring along a donation (food or otherwise) for local animal shelters. Meet at the West side of the park near the dog parks. Wear weather appropriate clothing, and bring water, sunscreen, and bug repellant. All dogs must be on leash on the trail hike. Be sure to bring some water for your dog, dog treats, and dog-waste bags.

Studies show that taking a walk in a natural area is good for your physical and mental health. Adults and interested teenagers can join a Rancocas staff person or volunteer for a Saturday guided hike in the preserve. Register online. Series continues July 20 and August 17.

This exhibit will showcase artwork that represents nature’s splendor and highlights the scientific world. View works that were created by artists’ imaginations and their interpretations viewing a vast landscape, some gentle (or vicious) wildlife, or a brilliant peak of mankind’s scientific progress.
Join Naturalist Jen Bulava in the Smith’s Woods butterfly garden to discover the butterflies, daytime moths, and caterpillars that can be found in our area. Learn about the plants they depend upon for both nectar and egg-laying and their ecological importance. For even more in-depth information on this fascinating group of insects, attend the follow-up lecture at the Lyceum at 1pm!

MOUNT HOLLY IN THE MID-20TH CENTURY THROUGH THE EYES OF HUGH H. CAMPBELL - Hugh H. Campbell was a man of many talents. He expressly captured his own view of Mount Holly via his paintbrush. Rotating exhibits featuring works by different artists will be coming this Spring to the Wardens House in historic downtown Mount Holly. Featured in this exhibit is the work of Lawrence Davis. Lawrence’s work reflects the timelessness of Americana in the form of landscapes and barnscapes. His work reflects that of the "Brandywine Valley" School of painting made popular by the Wyeth Family and Howard Pyle.
