This exciting program involves using special UV flashlights that allow us to see UV-induced visible fluorescence, an amazing phenomenon that would normally be invisible to us. Various plants, invertebrates, mushrooms and more glow in different dazzling colors at night. Observations from these walks can help us to understand why certain organisms glow and reveal possible adaptive advantages. Each time we go out on these walks, we could observe something new to science! Led by Park Naturalist Jen Bulava. Meet at Smith’s Woods parking lot on E. Railroad Avenue. Due to limited supplies, registration is mandatory.
