The Consumer Affairs office investigates consumer complaints, and provides educational programs and materials to assist customers, and responds to inquiries regarding specific places of business. The Weights and Measures office is responsible for inspecting all gas pumps, home heating meters, private postal scales, supermarket scanners and other measuring devices used in the marketplace. Both offices participate in consumer education programs and public awareness campaigns, and works with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to protect the marketplace.
