In recognition of GIS Day 2015, Burlington County hosted a Map Gallery and Contest which was displayed both at GIS Day at RCBC on November 5th and afterwards at the County’s Administrative Building at 49 Rancocas Road in Mount Holly. Maps were voted on by viewers for the following categories:
- Most Attractive/Artistic
- Most Informative
- Best Overall
- Best Application/Use of GIS
- Best Student
- Total Votes
The map display generated a lot of interest and positive feedback. There were stand-out winners for 1st and 2nd Place. 3rd Place was awarded in categories where there were significant enough votes to warrant it. Although there was no official voting for Best Student map, many student maps received votes and are being recognized with 1st and 2nd place based on the number votes they received overall in the contest. Additionally, this year we are also recognizing the maps that came in1st, 2nd and 3rd for the Total Votes (votes in all categories combined). The authors of the winning maps will receive a certificate at the next Burlington County Users Group meeting.
