Decreasing farm profitability and increasing environmental awareness require Burlington County farmers to be efficient and prudent in the use of agricultural inputs including fertilizers, pesticides, and animal waste.
Goal
Producers will use a systematic approach to monitor and improve crop and livestock production.
Action Plan
- Develop crop / livestock management programs to include soil and plant tissue testing, insect and weed scouting, disease forecasting, water and resource management, nutrient management, and animal health and growth evaluations.
- Conduct workshops, field demonstrations, and research trials that teach and demonstrate integrated crop management techniques.
