As Fire Marshal for Burlington County, I want to welcome you to our official website. The office of the County Fire Marshal was created in 1927 and has served the citizens and emergency service personnel of our County proudly. In October of 2002, the Fire Marshal’s office was merged into the newly created Department of Public Safety Services, and is now known as the "Division of Fire Investigations and Inspections".
Although the title has changed, the professional staff assigned to the division will continue to provide quality service to the residents and emergency services personnel of the County. Our mission is to reduce the loss of life and property as a result of a fire. Comprehensive fire investigation, fire code enforcement, and educational programs are the tools we use to achieve those goals.
Through the delivery of high quality and professional fire safety education and fire prevention, we will keep all residents and visitors of Burlington County safe from the disastrous effects of fire. Should a fire strike, an aggressive effort will be made through fire investigations and research with the knowledge obtained from the same, to be made known, so that we can make every effort to make sure that it will not happen again.
