Cemetery Care

Our office is dedicated to honoring the service of county veterans, living and deceased. While the Burlington County Military Service Medal Ceremony has become well known throughout the community, our Veteran Cemetery Care Program is not well recognized.

Flags

Our office maintains veterans' grave sites in over 96 cemeteries throughout Burlington County. In conjunction with various military organizations such as Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Legion, American Veterans (AMVETS), and Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), we place new American Flags on veteran's graves just before Memorial Day.

Our office orders the flags, as well as the bronze flag holders displayed prominently on the grave. Whenever you see a black tipped flag on a veteran's grave, it was placed there by our office.

Maintenance

In addition, throughout the summer, our office dispatches a part-time employee to clean up and cut the grass of all veteran graves not maintained by the cemetery staff.

Our Pride

We take great pride in our Veteran Cemetery Care Program. Your Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders have dedicated themselves to honoring our military and veteran community, both past and present.
