BURLINGTON COUNTY 101: A EUROPEAN INVASION

Wednesday, September 23, 2020

Nearly 400 years ago the first Europeans started settling in and around Burlington County. First, the Dutch and Swedes, and later, the English claimed land that was already occupied by the Lenni-Lenape people. The first 155 years of European occupation in Burlington County was tenuous at best. Take a look back as 17th century Quaker pioneers struggled to establish a proper English colony. We will also examine court cases from the 1600s when English law was quite different. Future programs in the series will take place October 7, 21, November 4, 18, and December 2. This program will take place on Zoom. Registration required. You will receive a Zoom link prior to the session. BURLINGTON COUNTY 101: A EUROPEAN INVASION
