Join Ranger Derkas in this introductory class and learn the basics of fly fishing. Ever wonder why the equipment is so different and how it is used? Learn the basics of a forward and backward cast. What can I catch on a fly rod? Where do I go? What do I need to get started? Bring your questions, rods and reels will be provided or bring your own equipment.

Registration is required, age 12 & up to participate. Meet at the picnic tables by the Visitors Center at Smithville Park at noon. Space is limited to 8. Rain will cancel this event
