The Hill Family was one of the wealthiest and most influential families in the colonies. They owned one of the most successful businesses in the new United States, lived through the smallpox epidemic, and stood up for those less fortunate. Hear their story in this follow-up presentation to “Margaret Hill Morris: Diary of the American Revolution”. This presentation will take place on Zoom. The program will be repeated on April 20 in-person and via Zoom. Please register for only one date and time.

Danielle Brenner will not only go over the recipe, but she will teach you the basics of water-bath canning and answer any questions you may have. Every other Wednesday, Naturalist Kate will post a new video on our Nature Programs Page that highlights a local species to better understand their behaviors, natural history and/or significance in the environment. This month will focus on Eastern bluebirds and minks.

A series of nature walks led by Naturalist Jen Bulava on select Tuesdays and Fridays. This program will repeat on Friday April 23. Smith’s Woods is thriving with spring activity from birds to interesting plants that are only above ground for less than two weeks. Join us for a 2-mile loop hike through the woods to take in the sights and sounds of spring. Maximum attendance limits are enforced and masks are required. Register online.

Join us for some much needed fresh air for a workshop on drawing a natural setting and subject matter. This light instructional class is led by Leeannwyn Stoner. Leeannwyn is a New Jersey resident, a Syracuse University BFA Painting graduate who studied DRAW with sculptor Lawson Smith, and is also a Hiram Gee Fellowship recipient. She is a working artist and Fine Art instructor, teaching and instilling the emphasis on drawing as the basis of all creative arts. During this class, participants will be introduced to different types of drawing techniques and skills. All artistic levels are welcome. Feel free to bring your own drawing material, or use and take home some of ours. Meet at Visitor Center.
