Historic Smithville Park & Smith's Woods

In this session (schools are closed for the teacher’s convention), children ages 5-12 are welcome to join us for fun with fall leaves and seeds. Students will start off looking for different leaves and seeds that have fallen on the ground and try to find out what tree they came from. We will look at the size, color, shape, and differences between the various kinds of clues the trees leave behind. Afterwards we will do leaf rubbings with crayons to remember the trees we identified. An adult must be present with the children for the duration of the program.
