Wednesday - CLOSED for public walk throughs; appointments only
Thursday - 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM (last showing at 6:30pm)
Friday - 12:00PM - 4:00 PM (last showing at 3:30pm)
Saturday - 12:00PM - 4:00PM (last showing at 3:30pm)
Sunday - 12:00PM - 4:00PM (last showing at 3:30pm)
Please find below the steps listed to schedule an appointment to adopt and view an animal. If you are coming in to fill out an application in person instead of online to be preapproved, please come prepared with pet policy information (if you rent) and vet records (if you own or have recently owned an animal) to be able to expedite the application process. Animals can not be shown out of the cage until you have a completed and reviewed application.

- Please allow 24 to 72 hours for your application to be processed. An adoption advocate member will reach out to you for a phone interview.
- Once a phone interview is completed, an in person meet and greet will be scheduled.
Our Purpose
The Burlington County Animal Shelter serves as the rabies control point for the 40 municipalities of Burlington County, operating within the Disease Prevention and Control Division of the Burlington County Health Department. Our Shelter is a county facility supported by animal control contracts with local municipalities and the county taxpayers. It is used as a shelter for stray dogs, cats and other small animals for a short term stay in accordance with Title 8, Chapter 23. It is also a place where county residents can take stray and unwanted animals.
