Two new Burlington County road resurfacing projects are scheduled to start next week in Westampton and Mansfield.

On Monday, May 6, pavement milling and overlay work is scheduled to begin on 1.7 miles of Rancocas Road, also known as County Route 626, in Westampton. The work will occur between Route 637 and Lumbert Drive.

The same day work is also expected to start on a 2-mile section of Columbus Road, also known County Route 543, in Mansfield. That work will occur between Route 656 and Atlantic/New York Avenue.

Work on both stretches of highway is expected to take about two weeks to complete.

Traffic will be maintained through the work areas, but motorists using the roads will likely experience delays and are advised to seek alternative routes.

The work on Columbus Road is being performed by Black Rock Enterprises and is part of the County’s annual road resurfacing program.

A total of almost 37 miles of roadway in 15 Burlington County municipalities is expected to be resurfaced through a combination of State and County funding.

The Rancocas Road project is being done by South State Inc. and is part of a separate repaving plan funded by the County.
