Work is scheduled to start next week on resurfacing a portion of Mount Holly-Smithville Road/Powell Road in Eastampton.

Pavement milling and overlay work will begin Monday, June 10, on a 1.1-mile section of the highway, also known as County Route 621, from the intersection with Woodcrest Road to Route 206. The work is expected to take about a week to complete.

Traiffic will be maintained through the work area, but motorists using the road will likely experience delays and are advised to seek an alternative route.

The work is being done by Earle Asphalt Co, of Farmingdale, and is part of the County’s road resurfacing program.

“Burlington County is the largest county in New Jersey and has over 500 miles of County roads, 411 County bridges and 700 plus culverts. Maintaining this infrastructure is one of the important services our government performs,” said Burlington County Commissioner Tom Pullion, the liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Our County repaving program ensures Burlington County has safe, quality roads and we are pleased to see that work is continuing.”
