Autumn is here and Burlington County will celebrate with the ultimate fall festival.
The Autumn Lands festival will be held on Saturday, November 2, at Historic Smithville Park in Eastampton and will offer plenty of seasonal foods, music, entertainment and activities for all ages. The free festival will be held from 1 PM to 7 PM.
“Fall is a fantastic season in Burlington County and the Autumn Lands festival is a great way to experience all the natural beauty, art and history in Smithville, our County’s first park and the crown jewel of our outstanding parks system,” said Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson. “Newcomers to the park will be amazed by this festival, which is an example of the outstanding entertainment and programing the Burlington County Parks System creates all year round.”
Headlining this year’s Autumn Lands festival will be the Axe Women Loggers of Maine, an all-female team of competitive logging sports athletes who will demonstrate skills such as log chopping, sawing, axe throwing and log rolling.
Visitors can also experience a Viking encampment, enjoy performances by the Autumn Winds Circus and participate in a hunt for classic movie monsters. Also be on the lookout for Beetlejuice and other ghostly characters on the Smithville grounds, including a haunted maze in the boxwoods of Smithville Mansion.
Vote for your favorite scarecrow on display along Park Avenue in Smithville, and enjoy scores of other fall activities, including pumpkin painting, leaf pressing, bonfire s’mores and more. There will also be a magic lantern show, live music, a beer garden, food trucks and more.
And don’t forget to visit the two Smithville trolls during the festival. They are two of the 19 trolls placed around Burlington County as part of the ongoing Burlington County Troll Trek public art exhibition.
Commissioner Allison Eckel, liaison to the Department of Resource Conservation and Parks, said the event is a fun, family-friendly occasion that celebrates the season with a diverse mix of art, entertainment, music and foods.
“Autumn Lands is the ultimate fall festival that spotlights the creativity and talents of artists and entertainers from across the region,” said Eckel. “Be it spooky Halloween fun and decorations, the natural fall scenery or delicious foods, there will be something for everyone to enjoy at Smithville this weekend.”
