Freeholder Director Tom Pullion announced today that Burlington County is seeking volunteers to participate in the next Clean Communities Spring cleanup event on Saturday, April 27 from 9:00 am – 12:00 p.m. at Willingboro Lakes Park.
"Keeping Burlington County litter-free is an ongoing effort,” said Freeholder Director Pullion, liaison to the Recycling Department. “Earlier this year, the community came together and successfully removed nearly 1,800 lbs. of litter from Pennington Park and along the banks of the Rancocas Creek. The county appreciates all the hard work our residents put in to improve our County Parks and our environment.”
Individuals, groups, and organizations are welcome to participate in this event. Bags, gloves, and grabbers will be provided along with light refreshments and a water jug to refill your reusable water bottle. Volunteers younger than the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers under the age of 18 that would like to participate independently must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver. Waivers are available online or at the cleanup event.
If you need community service hours, please register by 4 p.m. on Friday, April 26. To register, email cleancomm@co.burlington.nj.us or call (609) 499-1001, ext. 266.
