County Clerk Joanne Schwartz will join Mayor Jackie Veasy to perform a group wedding at 8:30 p.m., with fireworks to follow at 9 p.m. at Cherokee High School on July 4. This “Wedding Festival” will be the first for both the County Clerk and Mayor.

“I am thrilled to preside over Burlington County’s first group wedding under the fireworks on the 4th of July,” said County Clerk Joanne Schwartz. “It is an amazing opportunity to celebrate our country’s heritage and new beginnings for couples in our County.”

Couples will be asked to make an appointment and arrive by 8 p.m. to complete the necessary paperwork. Couples will need to obtain a marriage license from the town in which either of the parties resides. It takes 72 hours to obtain the license, so it cannot be left until the last minute.

“The Fourth of July marked the beginning of our nation and it seems more than appropriate that we are also celebrating the beginning of these couple’s lives together on the same day,” said Mayor Veasy. “It is an incredible honor to be a part of both celebrations with Clerk Schwartz. We would love for you to join us to celebrate matrimony with thousands of witnesses and supporters of the commitment a couple shares with one another. Here in Evesham, you can publicly recognize your love you share today in a place we call home.”

Couples can call the County Clerk’s office at 609-265-5142 to make an appointment or email
