The Burlington County Clerk’s Office is taking its services on the road with a new mobile outreach vehicle.
The Burlington County Clerk on the Go truck will travel throughout the County to share information about Clerk’s Office services involving passports, property records, notary and elections, as well as other County programs. It is expected to make its debut this Saturday during the Burlington County St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Mount Holly and will also be deployed to other community events and destinations throughout the year.
“Residents are sometimes surprised to learn about the many different services offered by our office and others in Burlington County government,” said Burlington County Clerk Joanne Schwartz. “This new mobile outreach vehicle will help us keep residents up to date about what services are available. It will help keep them informed and let them meet and interact with me and my staff, so we can answer questions face-to-face rather than on the phone or behind a computer.”
The vehicle was originally acquired through the Burlington County Commissioners Office at no cost. It was repaired and retrofitted by the Department of Public Works and transferred to the Clerk’s Office to use for outreach.
“Our government is committed to delivering high quality service and resources, not just from the County seat in Mount Holly but also where our residents live and work,” said Burlington County Commissioner Director Felicia Hopson. “The mobile vehicle will help the Clerk’s Office and other Burlington County departments reach more residents and respond to their needs.”
Schwartz said the vehicle will initially be used to provide information and forms to the residents. However, the office will offer some satellite services from it, much like those offered at the County Corner site at the Moorestown Mall. Potential future services include notary oaths, passport applications and photos, new business filings, veterans DD-214 filing and Gold Star Family identification cards.
“We plan to use the vehicle to bring some of our services directly to residents’ own communities at different times throughout the year, so they won’t have to travel to Mount Holly or Moorestown,” said Schwartz.
Elections staff will also use the vehicle to share important information about election deadlines and procedures, including vote-by-mail and early voting options. The Burlington County Superintendent of Elections Office plans to staff the vehicle so eligible residents can register to vote or update their voter registration information.
“The outreach vehicle is a great resource that will help us assist residents who are eligible to vote to register and get their questions answered about election procedures and the different methods available for them to cast their ballots,” said Burlington County Superintendent of Elections Dawn Marie Addiego. “We’re proud to partner with the County Clerk and the County Commissioners to make sure all eligible voters understand their rights and how to make their voices heard.”
