[ARCHIVED] Repairs to Mount Holly-Jacksonville Road Bridge Scheduled to Begin on June 17

Bridge repair sign

The Mount Holly-Jacksonville Road Bridge (D3.16) in Springfield will be closed for approximately two weeks for emergency repairs.

Work on the bridge across the Assiscunk Creek is expected to begin on Monday, June 17, and will require Mount Holly-Jacksonville Road, also known as County Route 628, to close between Oxmead Road and Jacksonville-Jobstown Road.

Local traffic will be permitted to enter the closure area to access residential properties and businesses, but no through traffic over the bridge will be permitted.

A detour will be established around the closure area using Oxmead Road and Smithville-Jacksonville Road.

The repairs will be performed in-house by skilled workers from the Burlington County Department of Public Works’ Construction Services team.

Burlington County is the largest county in New Jersey and is responsible for maintaining more than 500 miles of County roads, along with 411 bridges and 700 culverts.
