Work is scheduled to start next week on repaving parts of Red Lion Road and Eayrestown Road in Southampton.

Pavement milling and overlay work will begin Monday, June 24, on a 3.7-mile section of Red Lion Road, also known as County Route 641, from Route 616 to Route 70. The resurfacing work will also extend to a 0.2-mile section of Eayrestown Road, also known as County Route 685, from Route 641 to Route 70.

Work on both roads is expected to take about two weeks to complete.

Traffic will be maintained through the work area, but motorists using the road will likely experience delays and are advised to seek an alternative route.

The work is being done by Earle Asphalt Co., of Farmingdale, and is part of the County’s road resurfacing program.

“Burlington County is the largest county in New Jersey and has over 500 miles of County roads, 411 County bridges and 700 plus culverts. Maintaining this infrastructure is one of the important services our government performs,” said Burlington County Commissioner Tom Pullion, the liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Our repaving program ensures Burlington County has safe, quality roads and we are pleased to see that work is continuing.”
