You don’t need to travel to Margaritaville or Wembley Stadium in London to experience the great music of Jimmy Buffet and Queen.
Tributes to both legends will be performing this weekend at the Burlington County Amphitheater and Historic Smithville Park to close out a memorable Burlington County Summer Concert Series.
Jimmy and the Parrots, a premier Jimmy Buffet tribute group, will perform Friday evening at the Burlington County Amphitheater, 5 Pioneer Boulevard, Westampton (next to the Burlington County Library).
Queen Flash, a 6-piece Queen tribute group, will close out the concert series Saturday night on the event lawn at Historic Smithville Park, 803 Smithville Road, Eastampton.
Organized by the Burlington County Parks System, more than a dozen concerts have been held so far this summer featuring a variety of performers, including artists specializing in rock, country, blues, jazz, pop and more.
“This year’s Summer Concert Series has been one to remember with record crowds and stellar performances,” said Burlington County Commissioner Deputy Director Allison Eckel, the liaison to the County Department of Resource Conservation and Parks. “These free concerts are among our most popular Parks programming and provide an affordable evening of entertainment for all residents to enjoy. There are two shows remaining this weekend, so make a plan to come out to the Amphitheater and Smithville Park.”
New Jersey Assemblywoman Andrea Katz said the concerts are another tool to bring residents together.
“At a time when many families are still struggling with rising costs, Burlington County’s free concert series provides residents of all ages with an affordable way to enjoy dynamic music from all eras,” Assemblywoman Katz said. “It’s become a great tradition and we’re excited to hear this season has brought record setting audiences.”
Both of the final concerts will feature opening acts at 6 PM. The headliners are scheduled to perform at 7 PM both nights.
Food trucks will be on site for both events and concert goers are also permitted to bring their own food and beverages. No alcoholic beverages, tobacco, vapor products or other drugs are permitted.
The concerts are just some of the entertainment, educational classes, programs and events organized by the Burlington County Parks System throughout the year.
