World War II Veteran Albert Bernard Kaiser turned 100 last week and the Burlington County Commissioners teamed with Evesham’s Mayor and Council to make his celebration extra special.

Kaiser was born on March 27, 1926, and he celebrated his 100th birthday on Saturday, March 28, with family and friends at his home in the Brightview Greentree-Senior Living Community. Joining the many well-wishers were Burlington County Commissioner Tyler Burrell, Burlington County Undersheriff Odise Carr, Evesham Mayor Jaclyn Veasy, Evesham Deputy Mayor Heather Cooper and Evesham Councilwoman Dr. Krystal Hunter.

The group presented Kaiser with proclamations from the County and Township saluting his military service and remarkable life. Commissioner Burrell also presented him with a Burlington County Military Service Medal in honor of his distinguished service in the U.S. Navy.

“We were so happy to be a part of Albert Kaiser’s 100th birthday celebration,” said Commissioner Burrell. “Mr. Kaiser and his fellow veterans are the reason we have a free country and why we can all live safely and securely. The Board of Commissioners thank and honor Mr. Kaiser for his service and for choosing Burlington County to be his home.”

Kaiser enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and spent just over two years in military service, mostly in the Pacific theater during World II, where he served a radioman and gunner aboard torpedo bombers and other seaplanes. During his service he rose to the rank of Seaman First Class and was awarded a Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, China Service Medal and Navy Occupation Medal.

Following the war, Kaiser moved to Camden and worked for electronics giant RCA, contributing to various projects, including the company’s work on the Apollo II Moon Landing Mission and the Lunar Excursion Module’s television broadcast equipment. He also attended night school at Rutgers University-Camden and moonlighted as an assistant engineer for WCAM Camden Radio, working alongside DJ Jerry Blavat. He has resided in Evesham since 2018.

“Mr. Kaiser has lived a remarkable life of service and achievements, and it was a privilege for us to be included in his family’s celebration of his milestone 100th birthday,” said Mayor Veasy. “We wish him continued health and happiness, and we thank him for making Evesham his adopted home.”
