All sole proprietors and partnerships must be registered in the county where they are conducting business. Most banks require a certified copy of a firm name registration to open a business bank account.
The owner can only register sole proprietors or partnerships. LLCs, DBAs, TBAs and corporations must register with the State of New Jersey. Please click here: http://www.nj.gov/njbusiness/registration/

You may register your business with the County Corner Store in person or the Burlington County Clerk’s Office, either in person or by mail. When the parties in a business are from out-of-state, a power of attorney form must also be filed.

Fee
There is a $50 fee to be paid by cash, money order, or credit/debit card only. We cannot accept business / personal checks.
Register by Mail
- Contact the Burlington County Clerk's Office at 609-265-5122 and request a Trade Name Registration Form.
- Complete the forms as indicated. Signatures must be notarized when applying by mail.
- Mail the completed forms and the required $50 fee to:
