Burlington County Farmers Market Competing Again For Best Farmers Market in the U.S. Title

Home - County News Posted on March 18, 2026

The Burlington County Farmers Market is back in the running to be crowned the best in the nation.

For the second consecutive year, the Burlington County Farmers Market is one of 20 finalists in the USA Today 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards for the No. 1 farmers market in the entire country.  Online voting kicked off this week and will continue until noon on April 13.

To vote in the contest, visit https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/best-farmers-market/ . Voters can vote once a day, every day between now and April 13.

“Burlington County is a national leader in preserving farmland and supporting local farmers, and the Burlington County Farmers Market is a testament to that commitment,” said Burlington County Commissioner Deputy Director Allison Eckel, the liaison to the Department of Resource Conservation, Parks and Farmland Preservation. “This year is the market’s 20th season, and we’re excited it was selected for the 10BEST poll for a second consecutive year. Last year, we finished No. 4 in the nation, so we are hoping to make 2026 extra special by helping the market win the top spot as the best in America.”

The 10BEST contest is organized by USA Today each year and crowns the best food outlets and other destinations in several different categories.

The Burlington County Farmers Market is competing in the farmers market category against 19 other markets from around the nation. Each was nominated by a panel of experts chosen by USA Today. The winner will be named based on the online voting.

Burlington County is the only farmers market in New Jersey picked as a finalist in this year’s contest and is one of several markets selected to return to the competition again this year. Among the other returning markets competing are last year’s poll winner, the Soda City Farmers Market in Columbia, South Carolina, along with other top finishers, the West Palm Beach GreenMarket in Florida, the Kaka’ako Farmers Market in Honolulu, Hawaii and the 2024 winner, the Worthington Farmers Market in Ohio.

“There are a lot of fantastic markets competing with us for the top spot, but we believe in the Burlington County Farmers Market, its farms, vendors and staff, and we are confident that its fans from South Jersey and across New Jersey and the Greater Philadelphia Region will show it some love and vote everyday now through April 13. If they do, we think we’ll finish No. 1,” said Burlington County Commissioner Randy Brolo.

The Burlington County Farmers Market is held weekly during the spring, summer and fall at the Burlington County Agricultural Center located at 500 Centerton Road, Moorestown.  The site is a former dairy farm the County purchased and preserved and then remade into a park and education center devoted to farming, food production, nutrition and land stewardship. In addition to hosting the farmers market, a portion of the property continues to be leased for farming, and the site also has community gardens, demonstration fields and a commercial kitchen that is available for rent and used for cooking classes.

The farmers market season began last weekend with the first of four special preseason markets scheduled in March and April. The remaining preseason days will be on March 28, April 11 and April 25 from 10 AM to 1 PM.

The market’s regular season of weekly Saturday markets will kick off on May 9 with the traditional Opening Day and Spring Garden Market from 8:30 AM to 1 PM. Traditionally, one of the biggest market days of the year, this year’s Opening Day will also feature a special celebration marking the start of the farmers market’s 20th season.

Subsequent farmers markets will be held every Saturday from 8:30 AM to 1 PM rain or shine through November 14. There will also be several special theme days throughout the year and the annual holiday market in December.
