Burlington County Announces Scheduled Start of Resurfacing Work in Mount Laurel and Lumberton

Home - County News Posted on August 20, 2024

Work is scheduled to start this week on repaving Elbo Lane in Mount Laurel and Lumberton.

Pavement milling and overlay work will begin Wednesday, Aug. 21, on a 6.7-mile section of Elbo Lane, also known as County Route 612, from Route 607 (Church Street) in Mount Laurel to Route 636 (Fostertown Road) in Lumberton. The work is expected to take between six to eight weeks to complete.

Traffic will be maintained through the work area, but motorist using the road will likely experience delays and are advised to seek an alternative route.

The work is being done by Black Rock Enterprises LLC, of Old Bridge and is part of the Burlington County’s road resurfacing program. A total of 36.7 miles of roadway in 15 municipalities is expected to be resurfaced as part of Black Rock’s repaving contract.

“Burlington County is the largest county in New Jersey and has over 500 miles of County roads, 411 County bridges and 700 plus culverts. Maintaining this infrastructure is one of the important services our government performs,” said Burlington County Commissioner Tom Pullion, the liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Our repaving program ensures Burlington County has safe, quality roads and we are pleased to see that work is continuing.”
